Denial of Service Defense Detection to safeguard customer networks by scanning internet traffic flow

Verizon Business is extending its suite of in-the-cloud Denial of Service Defense solutions, which includes both detection and mitigation offerings, to Canada, and is expanding its Detection Service to 14 European and eight Asia-Pacific countries, bringing the company's total DOS protection coverage to 24 countries.

The company said that its latest offering, Denial of Service (DOS) Defense Detection, which helps safeguard customer networks at the backbone by proactively scanning internet traffic flow for suspicious activity, is now available in: Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, France, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Singapore, South Korea and Taiwan, UK and the US.

The company's Mitigation Service, which is designed to divert malicious traffic away from a customer's network, is already offered in these areas.

Michael Marcellin, vice president of global managed solutions at Verizon, said: Denial-of-service and other internet-based attacks can severely impede essential business operations and can have a huge financial impact on an organization. Verizon DOS Defense brings together our renowned global security practice and our expansive global IP backbone. The combination of these two unique assets gives us an unprecedented view into the threat landscape, allowing us to help our customers thwart attacks and maintain essential business operations.
