TNS to provide support for UK Gemalto's Terminal Management System

Communications and hosting system to support 140,000 Gemalto UK point of sale terminals

Gemalto, a provider of digital security services, has selected Transaction Network Services, to provide communications and hosting support for its UK Terminal Management System, supporting in excess of 140,000 point of sale terminals.

Under the terms of the deal, Transaction Network Services (TNS) will provide a complete communications and hosting system, backed up by 24x7x365 monitoring of all connectivity into and out of Gemalto's systems.

Underpinning the service is TNS's payment card industry data security standard certified backbone network, providing global connectivity capability into the Gemalto TMS, over a range of access methods, including dial, secure sockets layer, general packet radio service, and virtual private network.

Michel Leger, senior vice president of e-payment at Gemalto, said: Gemalto wanted a secure and reliable network partner to host and monitor its communications connectivity and terminal management systems. The level of service provided by TNS so far has been very impressive. The ability of TNS to provide a 24 hour help desk with live real-time support is a huge plus, making our business run much more smoothly.
