Employment website Monster Worldwide has selected real-time operational intelligence software provider Splunk for security monitoring and compliance efforts related to its online hosting business.

Monster Worldwide senior vice president and CIO Mark Conway said the company has selected Splunk because it applies across use cases, including security and compliance, applications, web analytics, operations, web intelligence and overall business insight.

"Splunk is the enterprise data platform that we will run our business on and is a critical component of our security and compliance and big data strategies," Conway said.

Splunk Enterprise indexes machine-generated big data in real-time, allowing organisations to search, alert and report on data and also generates reports quickly, while meeting the requirements to collect and retain specific audit trails.

In addition, Splunk software also enables situational security awareness, real-time monitoring of security incidents, attacks and gives customers new visibility and intelligence in combating cyber threats.
