To help administrators filter all web traffic on the network, including encrypted sites
ContentWatch, a provider of internet protection tools, has unveiled ContentProtect Professional 3.0 (CP Pro) that includes updates for SSL filtering, 64-bit application blocking, aggregated email notification and white list mode.
ContentWatch said that its new software also features safe search integration with the new Microsoft search engine, Bing, and safe search features for YouTube. Both features are expected to eliminate inappropriate content while searching.
With the SSL filtering feature, the new software allows administrators to filter web traffic on their network. By using 64-bit application blocking feature users can get around other filters and the new software reportedly allows the administrator to block those applications and maintain control of the network.
The white list mode provides administrative control. It allows users to create a list of acceptable websites and block the rest. Users can still request exceptions or additions to the white list, but the control resides with the administrator.
The aggregated and enhanced email notifications sends emails to the administrator when users are blocked from visiting inappropriate websites.
